Hi, I'm Kadion Phillips.
If you've spent time at our local sports fields or tuned into a town committee meeting, we may have already met. I'm running for the Sturbridge Select Board for the local election on April 13, 2026, because I believe that deep roots and active service are the best foundations for leadership.
Why I'm Running
Our town is a special place, but keeping it that way requires more than just good intentions—it requires work, transparency, and a clear vision. I've spent years "in the trenches" of our local government and youth programs. I'm not just asking for your vote; I'm asking for the opportunity to continue the work I'm already doing for you.
Experience You Can Count On
Leadership is about collaboration. Whether I'm serving as Vice Chair of the Community Preservation Committee, working on the Recreation and Cable Advisory Committees, or coaching Sturbridge Youth Basketball, Soccer, and Little League, my goal has always been the same: to listen, to solve problems, and to move us forward. Professionally, my work with the Massachusetts Educational Technology Administrators Association has given me the tools to manage complex systems and maintain high standards of accountability. I am ready to bring that same professional rigor to the Select Board.

We must prioritize essential services while exploring innovative solutions to maintain financial stability. Every budget decision should be made with transparency and accountability to the taxpayers who fund our town's operations.

From our classrooms to our hiking trails, I want to make Sturbridge a place where families thrive and visitors feel welcome. This means supporting our schools with adequate resources, expanding recreational spaces for our children and families, and preserving the unique historic character that makes us "Sturbridge." Our town's identity as a welcoming community must be protected and strengthened.
Smart Economic Growth
To keep our tax base strong, we must be a partner to our local businesses. By streamlining permitting processes, reducing bureaucratic barriers, and actively promoting Sturbridge as a prime location for commerce, we can strengthen our tax base and create new opportunities for our residents. Economic development and fiscal responsibility go hand in hand.
